We have been established as a driving school for 40 years and we pride ourselves on being the premier driving school in the areas we cover. For many years we have had more top graded instructors in our company than any other driving school in the area. We have friendly office staff on duty to discuss your general driving questions and lesson booking requirements. Our cars are modern and dual-controlled and we choose the cars which are easy to drive and which have good all-round visibility for your comfort. We have a no smoking policy with all our instructors and it is strictly no smoking whilst in the tuition vehicle. Most of our instructors have worked with us for many years, unlike many other driving schools where you may get a different instructor every few weeks. We specialise in advanced driving tuition for both firms and individuals and can tailor packages specifically for your workplace needs.

Theory Test

The Theory Test is in two parts - a computer based multiple choice question section and the Hazard Perception Test. Before starting the Theory Test you will be allowed an opportunity to practice using the equipment. During this time, staff will be available to help if you have any problems or questions. In the multiple choice section, questions will appear on the computer screen one at a time and you select the answers simply by touching the screen or clicking with the mouse. You can return to any of the questions later and change the answers if you want to. There are 50 questions in the test and you need to answer 44 correctly to pass. You are allowed 40 minutes for the test. The second section of the Theory Test comprises the Hazard Perception Test. This consists of 14 video clips which are viewed on the computer screen and each of which shows typical road scenes. In each clip there will be a developing hazard which you are required to identify by clicking a button on the mouse. One of the clips will have two developing hazards. The earlier you click on the developing hazards the more points you score. You must score at least 44 out of a maximum 75 points to pass this part of the test.

Pass Plus

Pass Plus gives you valuable extra experience and positive driving skills that would otherwise take a long time to acquire.
Statistics show new drivers make up just 10% of licence holders, but are involved in 29% of all accidents. Don't become a statistic a Pass Plus will make you a safer and better driver. The course is a six hours programme available to anyone who has passed the driving test within one year. It covers driving in town, out of town, in all weathers, at night, on dual-carriageways and on motorways. There is no additional test to take during the Pass Plus course. When your instructor is satisfied with your performance, you receive a certificate from the Driving Standards Agency. The certificate can then be given to your insurance company to receive a discount. Motor insurers that support the scheme will give you a one years no claims bonus for comprehensive, third party fire and theft and third party policies as soon as you insure your own car.

Our Courses

We run two types of courses, the first is a 25 hour course which is ideal for people who have had some experience of driving. Four hours of training per day is the ideal, with a coffee break half way to split the session up. The cost of the course is £500 plus the test fees for manual tuition. The second course is slightly longer at 35 hours. This course is ideal for new drivers. We would recommend that this be spread over at least a two week period, and can be spread even further to suit your requirements. The cost of the course is £700 plus the test fees for manual tuition. With either course we would require a £150 non-refundable deposit to secure your booking.
