The Broadband Media Exchange (known as the BMEX for short) is a Bristol based, not-for-profit company dedicated to providing innovative network-based services to organisations involved with digital media in the South West of England.

BMEX connects organisations from the Creative Industries with a high-performance, reliable, symmetric network at a reasonable cost. Members share information and work together quickly, efficiently and in innovative ways. BMEX links content creators, content deliverers and content users in the region more directly than ever before.

As well as a peer-to-peer network, BMEX supplies Internet bandwidth tailored to your individual requirements. BMEX purchases bandwidth in bulk which results in discounted Internet connectivity. Members can then share this bandwidth intelligently, making use of spare capacity. The BMEX network has a strong track record in negotiating discounts and securing funding for initiatives that benefit the whole group. Together, the member organisations have a huge range of skills and experience to share.

BMEX provides a platform for the development of ideas, from emerging technologies to existing technology used in a novel (or simply more cost-effective) way. BMEX offers new ways to connect people with relevant content and services, and allows organisations to collaborate on both commercial and research ventures.
