Rubbish since the refurb

Service

Sankeys has been disparaged over the past year or so since its reopening by clubbing regulars and it's becoming more obvious why. They're still attracting quality DJs (let's forget Kate Lawler for a sec) and offer some of the best sets in Manchester, but since when did The Printworks massive get an invite? Perhaps the competition from The Warehouse Project is too much at this time of year but that's no excuse for the bouncers' disgusting conduct. One can only hope and pray that Sankeys doesn't go down the well worn path of underground success followed by a strictly regimented club that squeezes the fun out of everything. In summary, top sets, bad attitude. Sort it out Sankeys.

Very good both times

I have been across the pennines to sankeys on two occasions. I really enjoyed both times that I have been.I think Sankeys is in a good location, being out of the city centre which in my opinion helps avoid drunken passers by coming in the club and spoiling the stmosphere. The club then makes the most of its industrial base as an ex soap factory with good use of poles and innovative lighting. There is also an upstairs white room which plays different music to the basement below depending on the night. The two nights I went had world class disc jockeys playing and looking at the line ups that the club has booked it seems that most weeks you are guaranteed a star attraction.

I loved it when I came here, the people in the club were so friendly, it was a fantastic atmosphere from start to finish. The music was wicked, and it stayed open until the morning! Which is great! I loved it, would love to go again! Try it

Yep, it's in the middle of nowhere, yep you practically get strip searched to get in, yep, when you do get in, it's a bit of a shed... but do you know what? Sankey's rocks! I've had some of the best nights out of my life here, and even when it starts to rain sweat (yes, I know, disgusting!) nobody seems to mind. Seen Erick Morillo DJ here a few times and loved every minute of it. If you're a serious clubber, then this is right up your street!

Lose yourself in the music!!!!

In short: rubbish bar, cheap lighting, bangin tunes....... what an atmosphere!!! Located in a warehouse initial thoughts were; if your searched on the way in it's got to be good! The bar has no drinks on draught and a small selection of bottles, which are stupidly expensive, there is also plenty of bottles of water on sale. Even if your not high on drugs the water is needed, the combination of an exellent atmosphere and music you cannot stop ""dancing"" to means you WILL need a shower afterwards (sweat really does drop from the ceilling)!! The tribal sessions held on fridays are highly recommended! Many people say that Sankeys is just a drugs den, this has some truth as a LOT of people use ecstacy and you would have no trouble buying it (and its cheaper than the drinks). That said you wont have it pushed on you and you wont feel out of place if you dont, trouble is also very rare (have you ever seen too pilling people fall out, let alone fight!). This is clubbing at its purest! If you want to talk, go somewhere else; ear protection is avaliable behind the bar (no joke)! Oh and it usually stays open till 5am i believe! To sum up if you love dancing and a good atmosphere go to Sankeys. Although be warned it is expensive to get in (£10 upwards) and the drinks are expensive also. Hopefully see you there! Sam Keep the spirit alive!
