The Pond Quay in Urmston town centre is definitely a step up from your average local Chinese Restaurant. In fact I'd say it is as good as most of the restaurants in Chinatown. It has a friendly atmosphere which is always welcoming, whether I've been with my wife for a "Diner a deux", with the kids for a family lunch or with work colleagues for a party night out.Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area

If you're ever down in South Manchester or Urmston, check this place out - great food and friendly staff. The restaurant is on the main street in Urmston, parkins is available on the road right in front of the restaurant, and there's a handy cashpoint over the road too. The train station is only round the corner, with trains every half hour to Manchester Picadilly, Oxford Road and Deansgate, only a 12 minute ride! The set meals are varied, but my personal favourites are the Malaysian Curries and the Fillet Steak in Cantonese Sauce! If you live local you can get takeaway or home delivery, even as far as Eccles! There's another branch of the restaurant at the Lowry in Salford, on the plaza between the mall and the theatre, check it out if you're down that way.
