Ok this place is absoloutely AMAZING!! If you aren't too snobby about where you shop and want some bargains - get on down. Located by blockbuster and tesco on oxford/wilmslow road its right on the main bus route so easy to stop off and grab something to eat!Alcohol is particularly cheap - as are mixers making it a favourite haunt with students - try their version of apple sours - tastes exactly the same, for less than half the price!!One of the best value things are their vegetables - if you go around 5 or 6pm they are all reduced - sometimes up to 70% off. In fairness you do have to pick and chose a little but its def worth it! It is worth noting though that sometimes branded products are cheaper elsewhere - you want the foreign produce here to get the biggest discounts!! Ive heard theyre pretty good to work for as well - £8 an hour I heard but they dont take on many staff so you have to work alot of hours. Once I was walking along and they were giving out freebies- it doesnt get any better than that - I got a bag full of sweets, cereal bars, veg, etc - brilliant!I would say a downside is you have to pay for bags but to be honest everywhere is starting to do that now so....I think there is a minimum payment of £10 on cards - some people get caught out by that and red faced, but there is a cash point just outside! If you go get the 89p 'milk and choco' chocolate fingers the are AMAZING!

With the prices at other supermarkets rising by 10% at the minute its well worth giving lidl a try. It has lots of foreign brands that are cheaper than our well known versions except they taste just as good but the prices are a lot cheaper. I find that especially the fruit and veg are very reasonable and often are as little as 49p! So i tend to buy it all here, it always lasts just as long if not longer than your usual supermarkets so is well worth buying. It also has a couple of brands such as Nescafe and walkers which you can pick up cheaper if you like your brands!!

This is another fab supermarket which sells all the food items that you could ever ask for but it sells them at a cheaper price because they are a foreign brand. It also sells a few brand names and it sells these at a cheaper price than other supermarkets. This is situated in an ideal location if you are a student as it is close to halls and is ideal for students because of the price. It's also a really good place to go and buy your fruit and vegetables as their prices are very cheap, they also change them and have selected items at a discounted price of 49p, which is too good to turn down. Definitely recommend trying it out.

This lidl is great, they alwasy have a large selection of both branded and non-branded items, ranging from groceries, sweets, fruit and veg, drinks, canned foods, frozen ready meals and pizzas, and really good fruit juice. Definitly reccomened it for fresh things and bakery style things like bread! It also sells dairy items but I have never really tried anything from this section. It's much cheaper and better than the tesco next door BUT - Don't forget to take carrier bags because you have to pay for them! Only about 3p but if you buy a lot of bargains then the amount of bags you need could be lots!

Having never been to Lidl, I still had a vague idea of what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. The value of some of the goods are amazing, with bargain after bargain. Although not all of it is top branded items, the food is still relatively good (although the mince we bought was not very nice) but for essentials then have no hesitation to shop here first before going next door. The cues are long to pay, but the low amount of staff is one of the reasons why it is so cheap!

The first time i visited LIDL, i couldnt believe my eyes.... There are some grrrreat bargains at LIDL, be it fruits and vegetables, groceries, breads and bakes, juices, wines, frozen meats and veggies, spices, sauses, cosmetics or desserts...They even do seasonal stuff for christmas and halloween at very very reasonable prices. Its open mon - sat 8am to 11pm... so you can even shop late after dinner. It surely has the best bargains for everything, in Machester.
