Hulme Community Garden Centre

A community garden centre fully stocked and open all year round. The majority of our plants are grown on site in vegan peat free compost. We are a not for profit organisation, most of what we achieve is done through the use of volunteers.

A garden centre with a difference

We opened in 2000 and have since grown to become the biggest community garden centre in Manchester. We pride ourselves on being as sustainable and environmentaly aware as possible, we recycle and reuse whatever we can. Whatever we cannot grow ourselves we source locally and try to ensure everything is grown in peat free compost. We are also a volunteer hub, where people from all backgrounds and abilities are welcomed. It is through these people that we are able to achieve many of our projects, both on site and around the local area. Throughout the year we host several events which are free and open to all, these include food, drink, music and craft stall by local artists, and activities for kids. Our established landscaped gardens provide a welcome green space in the heart of the city, we invite everyone to come and enjoy our garden centre as much as we do.
