About

Greggs

Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Greggs offer a wide variety of baked items, you can purchase cakes, pastries, sausage rolles and various other baked items. They also now serve drinks in most branches, such as Pepsi, Cola and Milkshakes, although they aren't very price competitive when it comes to drinks, as you'll be able to find the same drinks for much less in most other shops.it is a great place to go to purchase your lunch, or just a snack, and they often have offers on with most things, for example they sometimes have free drink offers on when you purchase a cake and a sausage roll or other similar thing, and also often have offers where if you purchase 3 of certain cakes you get a discount.

Great place for lunch

This is a great place for a quick bite to eat. Cheap, convenient and really nice as well. Freshly baked pasties and pies are served every lunch time. The main bad point is that at lunch they tend to be quite popular and build up quire a queue. Due to this I normally go around half-past one to avoid the normal lunch hour crowd as they bake continually throughout the day basically. They also do a good range of muffins and cakes as well, which I sometimes get. All in all a great lunch and one that would be hard to surpass. There are many branches so finding one where-ever you are based is not too difficult.
