Owned by Derwent Holdings, The Ellesmere Centre in Walkden is undergoing a major refurbishment and extension programme to create a superb shopping and leisure destination for Greater Manchester. Derwent Holdings is one of the companies that Kwik Save founder, Albert Gubay, has passed to trustees so that the Albert Gubay' Charitable Foundation can use their profits for charitable causes. The Ellesmere Centre boasts a prime High Street location with up to 2000 free car parking spaces and easy access by public transport, and offers a relaxed shopping environment with a varied programme of free family events run throughout the year.



Anchored by one of the largest Tesco Extras in the UK, other retailers
include Costa Coffee, JD Sports, Greggs, Quality Save, Subway,
 McDonalds, KFC, and Boots. Banks such as Halifax and Lloyds TSB are represented in the centre and are soon to be joined by Santander. The recently opened Victoria Market provides another attraction to shoppers and, coupled with smaller units in the scheme, offers an excellent opportunity for starter units progressing to larger spaces. 
 The Ellesmere Centre is fast becoming the hub of the local community, with over 140,000 people visiting each week to meet friends and family, to eat and drink, to work and to enjoy their leisure time. The Centre Manager and dedicated management team, which includes professional security, hygiene and maintenance staff look after the day to day running of The Ellesmere Centre. Located in the town centre of Walkden, The Ellesmere Centre, is just a short walk from local bus routes and Walkden railway station. The centre is easy to reach by car with access to Junction 14 of the M60 Motorway and A580 East Lancashire Road. Sat Nav postcode M28 3NF will direct you to the main centre car park.

Market Hall

The Pembroke Hall and Market Hall at The Ellesmere Shopping Centre in Walkden date back to the early 1970s but have been closed for the past eight years. During that time, substantial redevelopment has taken place. The unveiling of the plans for the return of the market hall to the shopping centre this summer was met with delight from members of the local community and existing tenants and traders who welcome the opportunity to bring community shopping back to Walkden. Numerous pre-lets have already been secured on stalls in the new market which opened on Monday September 3.
