Our College

Connell Sixth Form College will be a caring community where every student really does matter. A student's achievements and qualifications are important, but so too is their happiness and well-being. We will make sure that Connell is a place of creativity and learning, honesty and openness, challenge and enjoyment, tolerance and understanding.
Connell College:
is being built specially for the young people of Manchester as part of the regeneration project.
will have excellent teachers who have a passion for their subject.
will be an academic Sixth Form.
will have small teaching groups.
is where all students will know all the staff and all staff will know all the students.
is where the College will often be open from 8 am until 9 pm.
will have excellent careers guidance so everyone goes to university or gets a high level apprenticeship or a job when they leave.

As part of the regeneration and transformation of East Manchester, it was planned that the young people from this area of Manchester should be able to take advantage of a world class, academic sixth form within their own community, enabling them to realise their full potential in a variety of ways. The regeneration of East Manchester, spurred on by the building of the Commonwealth Games stadium, now the Etihad Stadium, has continued at a pace. Affordable housing and new employment opportunities have been brought to the area. A new Academy, The East Manchester Academy, has raised the aspirations of students aged 11-16.
