Our Vision

From our origins in a back bedroom in 2006 through to our re-launch in 2014 and now to where we are today, this is the story of YourParkingSpace.

We believe that parking should be easier. Think of how you booked your last flight. Or rented a flat, booked a hotel, bought car insurance, or even found a date.

Businesses like Sky Skanner, Rightmove, Laterooms, MoneySupermarket and Match.com all spring to mind.
These online businesses have only been around for a few years. They're relatively new and yet they're brands you recognise.

Our aim is for YourParkingSpace to be the online business that springs to mind next time you want to park your car, whether it's a for a few hours near the shops or for a few months near to your office. From private driveways to lock-up garages and commercial car parks, you can find a huge array of spaces at YourParkingSpace, with new spaces being added every day.

How We Started

It all began back in 2006 when the YourParkingSpace founder, Charles Cridland, noticed a number of empty driveways whilst walking to Kew Gardens Station. Suddenly there was the realisation that train station parking needn't be in such short supply if people could rent out their private spaces. After a few months, in July 2006, YourParkingSpace was launched.

Growing The Business

YourParkingSpace was originally based around the concept of renting out private driveways. However, it soon became clear that driveways weren't the only spaces that could be rented out. We quickly started to be used as a platform for renting out all types of off-street spaces, from spare land to underground parking spaces and off-street garages.

Thanks to some great publicity in many national newspapers and both ITV London Tonight and BBC Breakfast we quickly grew to become one of the most popular places to rent out a parking space.

In December 2013 Harrison Woods invested in YourParkingSpace and we set out on achieving our new mission, to turn YourParkingSpace into the UK's online parking marketplace. A marketplace that would feature driveways, private off-street parking spaces, lock-up garages and, significantly, spaces from commercial car park operators. At the beginning of 2014 YourParkingSpace was re-launched and motorists can now find and book hourly, daily and monthly parking UK-wide.
