Good food but very very expensive
What should have been an enjoyable meal was spoiled by charges that made our eyes bulge. The good was good but quite modest portions. My memory of the event is fogged by alcohol, I expect, but I recall dinner for 12 people being £990. The set banquet was about £35 but the charges came with 10 bottles of £28 wine, cocktails and coffees that were £10 a piece! Excellent setting, attentive staff.

Hidden jewel
Went on a Friday night as Blue Elephant (in Fulham Broadway) was fully booked. The place is tastefully decorated, staff are very attentive (without getting in the way) and food was delicious! There's even a nice bar overlooking the river to relax/meet friedns before being taken to your table. Manager took the time to show us around - the upstairs area is great and supposed to open Q2/2008, and even helped us book a (rather prompt and reasonable) cab. Will definitely come back!
