I've been to this place once (on a weekday) and was impressed by the friendly environment.I find it a perfect choice to hang out with friends for a glass of Sangria, listening to Spanish music and enjoying the excellent atmosphere with candles along with great decoration.A place I want to visit soon.

Went here only as part of a package deal when visiting the theatre. The overall look outside is very dark and gloomy, I'm pretty sure I've not seen anything as dark in Spain! The stairway leading down to the dining area was very impressive and the welcome at the top was reasonably warm and pleasant. Was seated straight away in the most populated part of the restaurant which was fine, although irritating that the other diners conversations were reverbrating throughout the cubby hole we were sat in. The very small (theatre) menu that was given was:Starters** Green Asparagus with Rock Salt accompaniment with lemon juice and a herb salad **** Salamanca Stew together with Chorizo and Smoked Pancetta **** Calamari and Aioli **Main courses** Salmon Fillet with mashed potato and a beautiful rich balsamic dressing **** Chicken Casserole (organic) with mushrooms and sherry **** Large Flat mushrooms and roast vegetable selection with melted goats cheese **Both myself and my guest choosing the Salamanca Stew and the salmon from the menu we were not sure what to expect. The lighting is kept to a low and the staff are unable to see when guests therefore need serving. Due to being so close to other guests we could see that the food being brought out to them all looked very well presented although a couple at the table next to us were waiting for their scallops long after they had finished the other tapas they had ordered (they didn't leave anything or have any other complaints about the food we could hear of anyway). After leaving this restaurant we decided not to visit again anytime soon, it left a rather bitter taste in the mouth despite the food being on the border of being very nice (the mash was lumpy and cold but apart from that it was all "ok"). Was miffed at the tiny menu and the fact that the main courses didn't come with vegetables.

Dull

Dull food, with the taste of cheap ingredients. The Bravas was a thin tomato sauce with nothing brave about it. There are so many better Tapas bars in London. This is probably great for groups to drink large amounts of Sangria, but is not recommended for anyone who thinks a Spanish restaurant should serve Manchego rather than unspecified 'cheese.'

I found Salvador & Amanda through an offer on After Work Deals - we got a free jug of Sangria between a group of four of us whilst having dinner, it definitely made a great start to the night. My first impression was surprise, I'd walked past S&A loads of times before and I had no idea that there was such a large venue underground. It's well decorated in a fairly typical tapas restaurant style, and there's a real buzz about the place.Service was really fast and friendly, and they made some great recommendations from their tapas menu. On the whole, the food was very good although it was a bit on the expensive side and I certainly couldn't describe the portions as generous! And the After Work Deals offer certainly helped manage the cost. Nonetheless, for the overall atmosphere I would still recommend Salvador & Amanda.

This place makes an easy option for a good night out

Went there for a fren's birthday bash and thought it was an excellent location for the occasion as it encompassed a bit of everything for everyone - which was particularly good if you wanted to do everything under one roof, especially in the occasional crappy london weather. We moved effortlessly from a dinner of tapas to cocktails when guests arrived, to serious partying on the dancefloor and an endless flow of drinks. The food was tasty (apart from the slightly soggy patatas bravas) and the sangria lived up to what was told to me as one of the best ones around london. Food & drink aside, the atmosphere was fun, dimlit and friendly, with the DJ on the dancefloor spinning gd ole hearty pop tracks that everyone knew the lyrics to! All in all, I would declare it a great venue for hosting an all rounder party or just having a gd nite out with friends..

I have been to Salvador & Amanda's place at least twice and always had a good time. The food they serve is mainly tapas which are quite good and they have a nice selection of wines. The cocktails are also pretty good. What I really like about this place is the decoration. Dark wood is used throughout the venue from wooden floor to wooden panels for the booth which gives the place a nice warmish feel to it as the candles light it up. Towards the end of the evening the music grows louder and you can dance to a few pop music.. unfortunately no latino music.
