ROUGE is a place of discovery in Stoke Newington (North East London), where rustic vintage furniture from Northern China and Mongolia sets the stage for an ever-changing collection of vintage and contemporary textiles, ceramics, artworks, jewellery and other hard-to-classify, intriguing items from the Far East. British and European textiles with a contemporary artisan appeal complement the oriental collection.

About Lei

Fashion designer turned shopkeeper Lei Yang opened the shop in 2005. Combining her passion for travelling with business, Lei sources the handmade pieces on regular travels to her native China as well as Mongolia, Japan, Thailand and Vietnam. The direct import saves us the cost of a distributor and as a result we can offer you our reconditioned vintage Chinese furniture at a lower price than you are likely to find elsewhere in the UK.

Our Shop

At our shop we're enjoying many wonderful conversations with our lovely customers and as we were setting up our online shop we were wondering how we could take them along. So we've set up a blog as a space in which we will share with you what we like, do and care about at ROUGE. Lots of that revolves around design, artisanship and travelling. Our Speciality

Rouge specialises in vintage and new furniture, ceramics and decorative items for the home, mostly sourced directly from China. The bold colours and simple forms provide splashes of colour and texture that complement a contemporary home. Rouge is situated in the heart of independent shops, bars and restaurants of Stoke Newington, an area offering an alternative to the chain-bland, clone high street experience of much of London.
