New Britannia meets Britain's oldest food market at Roast, a restaurant and bar dedicated to classical British cooking using the finest seasonal produce. We are housed in the unique structure of the former portico of a flower market, inside which we serve gutsy food and delicious drinks. Our dishes, wines and cocktails are constantly evolving and wherever you sit, there is a view either into our open kitchen, over Borough Market or onto St Paul's

At the heart of the foodie heaven of Borough Market lies Roast, a restaurant dedicated to reviving an appreciation of British cuisine. Using native ingredients wherever possible, the seasonal menu crams in a mouthwatering array of fish, grills, game and - yes - roasts. Brightly lit by enormous arched windows on three sides, the contemporary interior affords a vista over the market towards St. Paul's and is ideal for social and business entertaining.
I was there for a lunch on a Friday. With its huge windows, wood floors, modern yet very functional looking decor, it is an impressive place to go for a business lunch. Firstly, staff was friendly and courteous The presentation of the food was very good. The wine list offers many selections. I ordered a bottle of white and it was very chilled as I prefer it.
