About

Introduction to Beauty Therapy

'Beauty Therapy' covers a wide range of subjects from manicures, body massage and waxing through to holistic treatments such as Aromatherapy and Reflexology. Although it is an advantage to be able to offer as many different treatments to your clients as possible, you could also specialise in one area.

Whichever option you choose, either a full beauty therapy course or individual subjects, you will need to reach the same high standards of treatment to offer your clients.

Training in all subjects requires every student to practice on each other, so you will be receiving treatments as well as giving. Once a certain standard has been reached, you will be expected to work on paying clients (not students) who attend our in-house
beauty salon - London Esthetique. You may be required to work in the salon on one late night during the week. This is the best way a student can experience a realistic salon environment and learn how to meet the expectations of demanding clients to
professional standards.

The beauty courses are designed to give as much practical experience as possible however most subjects also require theory lessons such as human anatomy and physiology. You will also be required to study at home outside of school hours.

All the beauty products and disposable items needed during classroom training will be provided by the school.Where relevant, students are also given a kit of equipment/products to use in class and to practice at home with which is theirs to keep after the course.

Introduction to Make-up Artistry Courses

The world of high fashion make-up is extremely competitive! Talent alone (although essential) is not enough - a determination and drive is just as important. Most make-up artists are self employed and therefore have no guarantee of regular income until they have made contacts with photographers, stylists and agents to promote their work. However the financial rewards and job satisfaction once you have reached the top of your chosen profession are great.

Nowadays it is becoming essential for make-up artists to have hair "dressing" skills to meet the demands of the industry. Having multiple skills will make it easier for you to gain contracts and employment and increase your earnings potential. We recognise
this, and therefore include a comprehensive hair styling module in our eight week diploma course. This is also available as a separate course for those who have already completed a foundation course in make-up.

The London School of Beauty & Make-up has long been revered as the number one school in Europe to learn high fashion make-up techniques. This reputation has been achieved by an intensive 'no time-wasting' curriculum plus being the only school to use top international working make-up artists to teach and hand over their valuable experience and knowledge.
