La Brocca is one of those brilliant little gems that make you wonder why you bother to slog in to the centre when you can sit in a rustic brick conservatory eating great oven fired pizza and homemade pasta on your doorstop. I've been going there for 15 years and it has never been empty. Sunday brunch upstairs with their a la carte menu has become a regular institution.

Reviews on other sites which will remain unnamed….. have not really painted a great picture of this place mainly with regards to the attitude of the waiting staff. Well, let me tell you, I have just been there for dinner and had outstanding service. So much so that it feels like the restaurant owner has read all of the reviews and acted upon them. If that is the case, hats of to him.The food was great, very tasty but a tad too rich and greasy for my liking. That being said the menu offers a decent variety with original combinations, such as mushroom ravioli with gorgonzola. The tiramisu I had for desert was also very original, it had nuts inside! We didn't get to try the wine but the wine racks above the bar do look impressive. The overall experience was delightful; the 2 waitresses were outstanding in every way, the food was good, the atmosphere was cool, relaxed and cosy, the bill very reasonable, perfect place for a date. The people are from all walks of life, mostly locals.

This place has a wine bar above the small intimate restaurant downstairs. It's great value for money and very good for a date. Forget pizza express. This place is mostly locals who appreciate the good service and selection of wines.

i geatly enjoy la brocca - which is tucked underneath the main bar on west end lane. The food is excellent, with favourite sea food past dishes like crab ravioli. They also have varied specials of the day, which are yummy. Not cheap, meduim pricing but worth it. I would recommned booking in advance.
