The massage aims at improving health and well-being by treating the mind, body and spirit. It uses the Swedish
massage methods.


BENEFITS OF MASSAGE:

A full body massage has various physical and psychological benefits. Apart from its soothing and relaxing effects, massage increases venous and lymphatic flow, improves sleep and desquamation.

Petrissage, one of the classic massage movements, improves cellular nutrition due to an increase in blood supply to the tissues. Compresssion movements can help to maintain the tone and elasticity of the muscles. Vigorous strokes can help release toxins and deeply held tension in the muscles.

ITEC registered therapists abide by the following (among others):

History of Swedish Massage:

Per Hendrik Ling, the father of modern/Swedish Massage , studied in China. He was the President of The Royal Swedish Central Institute of Gymnastics (1813). This institute opened in London in 1838.

Benefits of Massage have been recognised with the increased awareness in complementary therapies and alternative therapies. Many systems and methods exist but Swedish massage remains the basis for most practice. It is a central part of therapies such as physiotherapy, Stress management and Aromatherapy.

The Therapist:

I am fully qualified and trained by ITEC (International Therapy Examination Council).

The ITEC Diploma in Holistic Massage uses Swedish Massage Methods and extensively covered topics such as Anatomy and Physiology.

Alongside Anatomy and Physiology, the course also required massive practical experience on the use of massage.

For the client, it is a relief to know that the therapist uses proven methods rather than haphazard and experimental techniques when dealing with clients.

Normal price: Full body massage - 60 minutes
60 mins = £45;
90 mins = £60.

Variations:

I can vary and shorten the massage as per request from clients. For example - you may request that I massage your shoulders longer than usual if this is particularly achy at the time. You can also request a massage only on the shoulders for 20 minutes. This will result in a corresponding reduction in price, if agreed in advance.

head, shoulders and back - 30 mins £22.50
head, shoulders and arms - 30 mins £22.50
head, shoulders - 20 mins £18.00
head, shoulders and legs - 40 mins £25.00

Gift vouchers:

A non-refundable deposit payment of £15 per appointment is needed to confirm the booking.

Methods of Payment:

by PayPal: Please use PayPal to pay the deposit. I will send you the link to PayPal website once the booking is agreed. You do not have to set up an account with PayPal to send payments. Using PayPal won't cost the customer. It can be used for one-off secure payment.


by cheque or cash: you can pay the remainder by cheque or cash at the end of the massage session.
