Friendly welcome by Carol, apartment was clean and well equipped and nothing was too much trouble. Good sea front position, scenic views from our room. Near some local shops, parking not a problem. Highly recommended and would return here.

Fantastic Place to Stay

Have just returned from an Easter break in the Isle of Man and I have only high praise, not only for the Isle of Man itself, but the wonderful apartments in Port Erin. We had the most beautiful view, welcoming hosts and the apartment itself was spotlessly clean and well appointed. Thank you so much Carole and Graham for your warm welcome and we hope to see you again next year!

A Great Place to stay with the warmest of Welcomes

Have just returned from these great apartments with stunning views. The welcome we had was so warm and welcoming - but not only that, we had lots of questions (large group of theatrical types) that Carole Nutt was more than happy to sort out prior to arrival. The apartments are large, well appointed and in a great spot - both for views and also for access to the beach and the small town of Port Erin. Its just around the corner from the Erin Arts Centre - so if your stay is anything to do with there, book with Carole....you wont regret it. The small touches, such as the welcome pack of tea and coffee - some chocolates by the front door etc were much appreciated. The whole experience was brilliant and Carol was a delight to deal with. Will be back again....loved it....from all at Blackwood Little Theatre.

A very nice set of seafront apartments

Starting this review off seems like a very difficult task after having enjoyed so many things about Kittiwake Apartments during our stay. To begin with the location. It's seafront locality gives an impressive view over Port Erin's bay which is especially lovely when the weather's all clear and sunny. The apartment's also a three minute walk to the local supermarket Shoprite, which was more than capable of catering for our needs during our two week stay. As with all supermarkets I'd recommend visiting around 2ish and close to closing times to pick up some reduced products. On top of this, there are also plenty of convenience shops, takeaways and a brilliant fish and chip shop all within a 5 minute walk. Also located nearby was the train station where you can jump on a steam train all the way up to Douglas, the Island's capital. So you definitely won't have to go far out of your way to cater for yourself during your stay. Now the apartment. Due to our very tight budget we opted to stay in the slightly cheaper non-sea front apartment but it definitely would have been worth paying the small amount more to wake up to the view of Port Erin every morning. The quaint decor provided a homely environment for us to relax in during the evening after a difficult day in the field. There were more than enough furnishings to make our stay comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped with all the utensils that you could need. The free wifi was also very highly appreciated by this group of teenagers but I'd recommend bringing an ethernet cable to attach to the signal booster to ensure a steady connection. Carole and her husband Graham were also brilliant hosts and were lovely to chat to when bumping into. They had lots of information about the island which made our first trip to the Isle of Man very pleasant. They were especially helpful when we were unsure of things like where to buy weekly bus passes and initially trying to find the supermarket. (Bus passes by the way are best bought at the train station). The foyer had plenty of leaflets which gave us an idea of all of the things to do around the Island. Despite it's relatively small size Port Erin had lots of things to keep us entertained with our days off. During our days off we trekked to Milner's Tower on Bradda Head to get a lovely view of the town as well as hiring out the Kayaks as a group and exploring the bay on sea level. A few shops down there is also a really nice ice cream parlour that sells flavours like smarties and maltesers for a fair price. On the far side of the bay there was also a very nice pub where you could enjoy a great pint of the locally brewed Bushy's Ale (of Man) along the seafront. Over all we had a lovely experience staying in Port Erin at Kittiwake Apartments with both Carole and Graham making our stay all the better. Thank you for your kindness and generosity! Danny, Rachel, Loz and Andy From - London Stayed from the 16/07/2014 till 30/07/2014
