Oak Wood Lodges, which is open all year, provides quality self catering holiday accommodation in fully equipped and centrally heated Norwegian log cabin`s at the heart of Wales. Our fantastically appointed Norwegian log cabin`s are all south facing and include everything you would expect from self catering holiday accommodation plus a few extras. Each log cabin has it`s own private veranda and parking for two cars and can comfortably house up to eight holiday makers.
Situated in a prominant and commanding position, the Oak Wood Lodges Norwegian log cabin`s give you a spectacular view sweeping across the Elan Valley, a vast nature reserve renowned for the beauty of its lakes, mountains, moors and oak woods, the ideal base for a self catering holiday in Wales.
The self catering cabin`s, each with full central heating, are just as well suited to winter holidays as they are to summer ones. So whatever time of year you want to take that well earned holiday, you can come to Oak Wood, even over Christmas or New Year!
Located right in the " Heart of Wales ", Oak Wood is also an excellent touring centre, enabling you to visit any of the many attractions on offer throughout Wales. And with the ruggedness of the Elan Valley and Cambrian mountains right on the doorstep, what more could you ask for? Well we can offer more. Dogs are welcome as well. There is plenty of opportunity around the area for many leisure pursuits including walking, pony trekking, mountain biking, fishing and golf. It is also an exceptional area for bird-watchers, the area being home to the red kite.

A small, peaceful and secluded site, Oak Wood Lodges is set in 19 acres of land which also includes woodlands of about 3 acres. All the self catering lodges face south and enjoy the sun all day, as well as the attractive 5 mile panoramic view towards the magnificent Elan Valley, with its mountains, lakes and moors.
My husband and I went to stay in one of the log cabins in May this year with our 3 dogs - we enjoyed our stay very much. The cabin was of a very high standard and the area lovely all the people were friendly - lots of great walks for the dogs! We are really looking forward to going back there for New Years Eve.
