About
Construction began in 1849 by Baronet of Bodelwyddan as a gift to his wife Lady Sarah Hay Williams. He drew inspiration from their experiences of travelling in the Loire region of France and spent ten years creating the end result. The Château has been sympathetically refurbished to restore it to its former glory, retaining all of its charm and a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’! Start your day in this picturesque location surrounded by mountains and unspoilt beaches. As you admire the architecture of this French gothic style château; gaze up at the coffered, meticulously painted ceilings, wander through the enchanting grounds and tempt yourself with a traditional afternoon tea in the Music Room. Enjoy our famous ‘Château Dining Experience’ in our magnificent wood panelled Banqueting Hall before sampling rare vintages in the atmospheric wine caves.
