About

Holiday Parks and Caravans in North Wales

Gorse Hill is truly a park with a difference. Set in 50 acres of undulating woodland, the park has been lovingly and carefully redeveloped to provide an idyllic haven of peace & tranquility. Safe & Secure, the park offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside, with panoramic views of The Conwy Valley, Snowdonia, and Llandudno.

Space

A continuous area or expanse that is free, available, or unoccupied:

Gorse Hill Caravan & Lodge Park is spread over 50 acres of woodland nestled on the hillside (Gorse Hill) overlooking the Conwy Valley and Snowdonia. Not only does the park enjoy an unrivaled setting, close as it is to the mountains & lakes of Snowdonia, the beaches and coves of the North Wales coastline, the nearby marinas and a host of local, interesting and varied attractions, we believe our park has been developed to the highest standard of any caravan and lodge park in the UK.

Over the last 8 years over £16 million has been invested in developing each holiday home base with the finest attention to detail. Seven metres separate each holiday home, allowing ample room for two cars to park on the block paved parking bay adjacent to your holiday home, as well as a large expanse of carefully maintained lawn for you to relax and enjoy your weekends away.

In order to maximise the enviable views from every plot the park has been carefully tiered to make the most of the parks' natural elevations. The results is that the majority of the plots enjoy an outlook that most caravan owners can only dream of.

Conwy

Conwy castle is an impressive dark stoned fortress which has the rare ability to evoke an authentic medieval atmosphere. The first time that visitors catch sight of the castle they know they are in the presence of an historic site which still casts a powerful spell.

Conwy, constructed by the English monarch Edward I between 1283 and 1289 as one of the key fortresses in his 'iron ring' of castles to contain the Welsh, was built to prompt such a humbling reaction.

A distinguished historian wrote of Conwy, 'Taken as a whole, Conwy's incomparably the most magnificent of Edward I's Welsh fortresses'. In comparison to other great Edwardian castles it is also relatively straightforward in design, a reflection of the inherent strength of its siting.

There are no concentric 'walls within walls' here, because they were not needed. Conwy's massive military strength springs from the rock on which it stands and seems to grow naturally. Soaring curtain walls and eight huge round towers give the castle (a World Heritage Inscribed site) an intimidating presence undimmed by the passage of time.

The views from the battlements are breathtaking looking out across mountains and sea and down to the roofless shell of the castles 125ft Great Hall. It is from these battlements that visitors can best appreciate Conwy's other great glory, its ring of town walls.

Conwy is the classic walled town. Its circuit of walls, over three quarters of a mile long and guarded by no less than 22 towers, is one of the finest in the World.
