About

The Aonach Mor Hotel

The Aonach Mor is a delightful family-run hotel with six comfortable en-suite rooms, all with colour TV as well as tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel is open throughout the year for short weekend breaks or longer stay holidays, and we offer special prices for children. We welcome walkers to the hotel and offer collection facilities from Gairlochy for hikers on the spectacular Great Glen Way long-distance footpath - and we have drying facilities for clothes and boots.

Fishing is also a local speciality, and we are able to organise fishing expeditions and permits in local rivers and hill lochans for both trout and salmon.

Wine and dine (and sleep) in style

Wine and dine (and sleep) in style

Visitors to the Aonach Mor can dine in our charming restaurant, where we provide breakfast, lunch or dinner, or you can enjoy a more informal meal in the Aonach Mor's well-appointed lounge bar.

Our menu is renowned for its variety and quality. Our beautifully-furnished bedrooms assure you of a peaceful sleep, while the atmospheric lounge bar is popular with the villagers of Spean Bridge, and we pride ourselves on stock of over thirty Malt Whiskies from every area of Scotland ... Highland, Lowland, West Highland, Skye, Speyside and Islay. For that special occasion we can even offer you a forty-year old dram.

The area offers a huge range of outdoor activities.

The increasingly-popular Great Glen Way long-distance footpath, running the whole length of Scotland's most astonishing geological feature, is within easy distance of the hotel, and we always give walkers a special welcome. The West Highlands are renowned for golf, fishing, walking, climbing and pony trekking. There is an expanding network of mountain bike tracks, and the diving on the West Coast is the best in northern Europe. The Aonach Mor Hotel is able to organise fishing permits, guides for walking and climbing, whole- or half-day cruises - just ask and we'll help.

Golf courses abound in the area, the nearest being the Spean Bridge course, just three minutes away. Fort William's course is tucked under Ben Nevis, and the seaside course at Traigh, north of Arisaig, is so beautiful you won't be able to keep your eye on the ball!

Britain's newest ski centre is at Aonach Mor; in winter or summer, the gondola and chair lifts operate to take you up to the cafe on the mountain. For further information visit our website, or call on 01397 712351.
