Extremely bad experience

Unicom IBC Ltd operates the websites "kitchen-worktops-direct. Co. Uk" and "kitchen-worktops-plus. Co. Uk" The company advertises that you can telephone to speak to one of their “professional sales advisors", but the sales adviser that I spoke to in February of this year clearly had poor knowledge of the Apollo Quicktop product that I was interested in. He mis-advised me and then sold me products that were unsuitable for my project and which could not be fitted or used as he had stated. After an unhelpful exchange whereby it was initially suggested that I had placed the order on the internet myself (and not through their advisor), they were only been able to partially resolve their error by having the worktop reworked at the fabricator. The company is aware that I have been left out of pocket by their error and have also had to compromise my project. I was advised to put my complaint in writing (which I did) and then had to chase the manager for a reply. After pushing, a reply did finally arrive by email but no apology was issued and the manager simply cited the terms and conditions that the company were not responsible for “damage or shortage". Since the complaint actually involved mis-selling, I did not feel that this was an appropriate “get out clause". I therefore emailed again (and was ignored), and then again in frustration, telling them that if they could not respond to my complaint in an appropriate manner then I would have no other option but to warn other prospective customers about my experience. This is the threatening reply I received: “Your email string has been forward to our Managing Director who has advised that should any negative, libelous or company defamation be found during our online searches that we will source the IP address and seek legal redress to the full. Be advised I have also been given permission to seek the same for any personal libel written against me. As it stands your last email has been considered a malicious threat and will be passed to our legal department. . Sincerely. Reuben Mein. Unicom IBC Ltd". Rather interestingly, the company states on at least one of its websites that, “Our core value as Christians is integrity and our vision and mission is simple "Offer you the best we can for the least we can". I can safely say that this will be my one and ONLY experience of this particular company.
