Best live music venue in Glasgow

The title of my review says it all. The history of this place is enough for it to make it's way into rock folklore. But if you are lucky enough to see a good band here, it'll blow your socks off.

Go Ga Ga for Wah Wah

An iconic music venue in its own right, King Tuts is a legendary club that's helped launch the careers of so many successful artists today. Radiohead, Pulp and Oasis to name but a few. Now its home to up and coming bands/singers and generally a great place to talk music. Seeing Biffy Clyro there is definitely one of the highlights of my wee life so far!

A truly "indie" venue

This is the type of venue where you can go for a good time - you might not recognise all of the bands which play here, but it's always a good experience, nonetheless. I wasn't lucky enough to see any of the now big name bands play here, but I did see Biffy Clyro relatively recently, who are now making their way up the rock charts. The venue is strangely half-underground, and is a little bit small for my taste, but the sound quality is pretty good and the little bar provides a good stream of drinks to last you the night. The location is what does it for me - really close to numerous transport links so it's brilliant for finding your way home after a noisy night out. It's a name that's recognised by most of Glasgow's young community, and for good reason - give it a go yourself one day, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Great Little Venue

King Tut's Wah Wah Gut is located on St. Vincent's Street near Charing Cross in Glasgow. I love going to gigs in this venue. The small, intimate atmosphere of this place makes the music that much better. I would advise getting to any gig a bit early to make sure you can get one of the coveted seats in the space near the stage. Since the venue is so small every spot in the place is a prime spot for watching the band. Bands always seem more relaxed when they play this venue because there is much more band to crowd interaction which makes for a great gig. Unlike other places I have been everyone that attends a gig at King Tut's is respectful of the place and isn't intending on throwing half full pints into the crowd or anything like that, which makes the night that much more enjoyable.
