Well it's true that our family love animals - our boys aged 3 and 1 love visitng zoos to see animals but West Midland Safari Park (WMSP) is a bit different. The first thing you encounter when you arrive in the complex (once you've paid, that is) is the safari on the left hand side. You can skip this and go straight to see the other wildlife and/or rides, but more of those in a bit.Safari - drive your car through the Wolves pen, past the Rhino and past the giraffes - you can feed these animals which is great fun especially is you fancy some giraffe slobber on your hand! THere are so many animals to see plus so many photo opportunities that you'll be driving around for approx 1-2 hours just watching anything from White Lions, tigers, camels, deer, buffalo, you get the picture.Once you've negotiated the Safari, park up and you can either get the free train to the other side of the main park or just walk on in, where you pass the gift shops and refreshments area. Refreshments include snack shops, sweet shops which include ice-creams/lollies and pick and mix style offerings. On your right hand side you will see the gift shop which you will find a decent range of animal paraphernalia including CDs, t-shirts, toys and cars etc.So on to the park. Here you see yet more animals, including a walk through bat area in which you will come into very close contact with these lovely creatures. There are sea-life offerings (fish etc) whilst across the way os the sea lion area which offers regular shows which are great fun for the kids. There's even a seated area for disabled people just by the side of the Sealion 'stage'.With Snakes, Crocs and more animals to see, there's enough here to keep you going for a fair old while. Oh yes, don't forget animal encounters which occur at various times throughout the day in which you get the opportunity to touch and feel various animals such as snakes and rabbits etc.The other section to mention is the ample rides area, which offers thrills and gentle rides for all ages, such as water slides, arcade games, fairground games and more. The rides are expensive if paid for individually, so if you are going to gon on rides more than 3 times, buy a wrist band which from memory costs approx £9 but gives you unlimited rides for the day (as far as I can recall). You can also feed the hippos by throwing cabbage into the Hippo lake, which is cool.Overall, a fantastic day out plus you get a free return ticket so effectively you can go twice for your money which is great! WMSP also offers a night-time safari which sounds great! Can't wait to try that one! I highly recommend WMSP for a great day out!

Bewdley Safari Park

Bewdley Safari Park is a great day out for all the family. The site is split into two sections, one being the drive around Safari and the other the walk around animal encounters/amusement park. It is a little expensive as there is no child price, though very young children get in for free. However the admission price does include a free return visit for the same season (nb same vehicle and number of occupants required). The safari section can get very busy in the mornings/lunchtime, so it is advisable to do the walk around section first, then go back to the safari section early/mid afternoon when it is quieter. There is a wide variety of animals to see, and animal feed can be purchased from the pay kiosk before hand. The walk around section is just as good, with sealion shows, reptile house, bat caves and a section for the goats which can be accessed by the public. In addition there is a good amusement park area, though this is at an extra cost and is a little expensive.Overall there is ample parking and plenty of picnic areas and cafes/food stands.Definately worth a visit - though only on a good day!
