WE WENT TO THE WHITEHOUSE ON VALENTINES EVENING AND HAVE GOT TO SAY THAT IT WAS LOVELY. NOT TO OVER THE TOP WITH IT BEING VALENTINES. THE STAFF DID EVERYTHING, THE SERVICE, FOOD AND DRINK WAS LOVELY.WE NOTICED THEY HAD AN OFFER 2 COURSES FOR £10 AND 3 FOR £12 AND HAVE BEEN BACK SERVERAL TIMES AND EACH TIME THEY HAVE NOT DISSAPOINTED.THE MANAGEMENT, STAFF, FOOD, DRINK AND OFFERS ARE ALL SPOT ON.

I used to enjoy the beer here, not anymore it is very mediocre. They used to often have some good guest beers but now it's the same rather dull selection most of the time.As for the food - don't bother, it is a pale shadow of before. They don't know how to cook fish so beware! Worst of all is the price. You can get a much better meal elsewhere for the same money. One really irritating thing and the reason I stopped going at weekends during the day and early evening is how they allow children to run around the place. Sometimes its more like a kindergarten than a pub. I particularly dislike the way they allow small children to sit on the bar. Parents seem to think it is amusing - it's not!! Call me old fashioned but I would rightly get told what to do if I walked into a nursery with a pint.

This pub used to be so good that I moved closer to it to avoid taxi fares- I was there so often. Now the management and staff have all changed for the worse! Prices have shot up and the quality has gone bad with myself witnessing several meals being sent back. Used to be a lovely romantic country pub type of place but as the staff quality has reduced- so has the clientel. Not been in for some time due to a disagreement with the manager, but from what I hear from people who do still venture in- it has not improved. My advice- avoid like the plague!
