Get Your Policy Right, or Avoid!

They were very quick to get my business, but hours after setting up a policy, I had to change the policy pending unusual investigations. As the 14 day cooling off period would not be an option on this occasion, I decided to cancel the policy instantly, and would return to them with the ammended agreement. The funds were immediately withdrawn from my account, and after numerous calls a week later, i'm still waiting for the funds to be replaced, and i'm now told that when this finally arrives it will be the amount in total, minus an 11% cancellation charge. Companies who withdraw money funds for policies instantly are in a strong position to charge you any reasonable charges they see fit, (for which the terms and conditions don't actually state a fee or percentage) but they will also retain your money for as long as possible and then subtract charges on top of that, both of which are unreasonable codes on conduct, even if you've had to make a genuine change. A gesture of good will and common sense would have ensured that healthy forum or word of mouth comments, would seek only to aid their business in the future, rather than diminishing its prospects for the future. Overall, they sell other peoples good quality products at reasonable rates, until you have a problem, and what you'd gained in value initially, you'll lose in customer satisfaction, and then again in value! They seem to view themselves as the only party involved to have had time, money and inconvenience placed upon them. Either, get everything right first time, or use another insurance broker.
