Excellent Chinese Buffet

We made a return visit in April 2010 and were very impressed with the refurbishment, it used to be very 'canteenish' which it isn't now. Our eating companions included a Chinese Malay who was very impressed with the food and the quality which included a vast choice of food. There was a variety of sweets, including a very good chinese equivalent of an Eaton Fool. The drinks were reasonably priced, the house wine being under a tenner a bottle. With parking in the Beatties Multi-Storey car park just around the corner, get your ticket stamped at the restaurant and it costs nothing at night. - An excellent night out

Happy Birthday Happy Birthday

Service

Quality

Parking is not too bad, even though there is none on sight, there is an NCP right next to the restaurant which is affordable, spacious, and generally busy with the bustle and lively chat of its content customers. The food is very variable in type, as opposed to quality, with a wide range of Chinese dishes and English dishes. The price is acceptable for an all you can eat, with a great ice cream machine for dessert. The drinks are not cheap, as is expected in all all you can eats, but all in all it is a nice place with fine food for the price. The most dissapointing thing is if it is somebodies birthday in the restaurant. They insist on putting the happy birthday song on, which seems to be sung by an army of tuneless children. This can put a dampener on a meal, if only because it will never ever leave your head.

The Imperial Buffet Restaurant

The Imperial is a chinese eat as much as you like buffet restaurant. It is well situated within Wolverhampton town centre, so is easily accessable. The only disadvantage is that you have to find somewhere else to park your car, as there is no on site carpark. The actual restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and looks quite elegant, making this an ideal setting for a special occasion. The staff are helpful and friendly, even though can look a bit intimidating at times (please note however that they are not at all intimidating!).The food is very good and there is a reasonable selection of starters and main courses to choose from (including basic English options such as chips). The choice of desserts is not so good - last time I went there was only ice-cream. The overall value is very good - price varies according to time and day you go on, but always appears reasonable. Drinks are extra, and are a little pricey.Overall, worth a visit.

On visiting wolverhampton to do some serious shopping in the antique market we were feeling a little hungry and upon passing this restaurant decided to try it we were not disappointed! 5 pounds fifty is cheap in anybodys money so I was not expecting a great deal, however the variety of food was great, deep fried seaweed, pork and also a nice variety of puddings. The beer was reasonably priced also, will be definitely using this place again!
