We provide free damp surveys, a free phone and will give a free quote and free advice to private homeowners*. We enjoy installing basement conversions or cellar tanking systems, damp proof sources, waterproof rendering, plastering, 1 hour return woodworm sprays, dry rot and wet rot treatments, penetrating damp ~ external wall sprays, damp floor painting, air brick installation and condensation control. We give up to 30 year guarantees on our work and as approved Triton contractors, we can also pass on their up to 30-year insurance backed guarantees at an extra oneoff 10% cost. Basement Conversions or Cellar Tanking Surveys

this is what the surveyor will be looking for:

Wood and water do not mix, any wood in a wet room like a cellar will require treating
Ventilation in the cellar or basement will reduce the build up of moisture in the air
Is there any ponding or pooling of water on the cellar floor at any time during the year
Are the cellar walls stable. If there is a step supporting the walls, can they be reduced.
Is there sufficient ceiling height in the cellar or will the basement floor need to be lowered
A tanking system with plasterboards will reduce the size of the cellar by 50~80mms when fitted
A floor sump will collect the water in the cellar, then a pump will remove the water outside
Vaulted cellar ceilings can be treated and plastered using special methods
A cellar can be enclosed in a waterproof coating, called a tanking or drainage system
The decorated basement will look like a normal room in every way
A typical cellar would cost approximately:

£4,997 for the cellar tanking system, cellar sump pump and plastering for a 4x4M cellar
A vaulted main cellar room ceiling would add £697 to the cost
A cellar's brick stair case, extra tanking and new wooden stair case adds £697 to the cost
A new concrete floor in the 4x4M cellar would add around £1,500 to the cost
A new consumer unit for the cellar electricity supply requirements should cost around £350
Usually the bigger additional cellar conversion costs are the bespoke customer requests
Some cellars will have strange building features that make the cellar tanking process difficult
We charge £75 for a local annual Triton Isola Platon cellar sump pump inspection
and £125 for a limestone wash. These are required for the pump guarantee.
The 30 year insurance backed cellar product failure guarantee is around £35
The up to 12 year insurance backed cellar service guarantee is 10% of the invoiced price,
this covers you in case the cellar tanking system fails due to incorrect fitting
Obviously, each cellar would have to be priced individually,

Guarantees

Insurance Guarantees

As we are Triton Approved Contractors and members of the Triton User Group, you can also benefit from an insurance backed independent guarantee.

This means that if for whatever reason we are not still trading when you have a problem, the insurance will compensate you for the re-treatment of any failed treatments covered by the guarantee, by sending a Triton Approved Contractor who is still trading to carry out the required work.

As an independent insurance cover, it does not matter if Aquarius is not trading over the next 30-years for this cover to be valid


Company Guarantees

We will issue you a company guarantee which is valid for 30 years which will allow you to have a free re-treatment of any failed chemical treatments carried out by Aquarius Timber Preservation. This guarantee is valid for as long as Aquarius Timber Preservation is trading.
