Upon claiming my deposit back, replies to my emails ceased, and a phone call was hung up on, with subsequent attempts cancelled. This led me to visit their office, where I was told by a member of staff "I don't care about your deposit", "You have no business talking to me", and to "Just go". I was told the Director would deal with my enquiry the next day. On my next visit, I was shown the same level of disregard by the Director, called a "prat", told that I "enjoy being a prat", and told to "f*ck off out the office", simply for wanting written information about what was happening with my deposit. The customer service provided by most of the staff at City Life Group was simply rude, ignorant and offensive. If you want an easy ride when reclaiming your deposit, and staff who know how to talk to a human being with any level of decency, DO NOT rent from City Life Group.

I have been waiting for 7 months for any rent payments to be made to me..... I have threatened them with a statutory demand but they still would not return my calls. I am today contacting the police as I beleive this is a scam and they are fraudsters. They have no legal right to keep money that is not theirs. DO NOT HAVE ANY DEALINGS WITH THIS COMPANY

City Life are the type of letting agents that give the industry a bad name - dishonest and incompetent. It is now two months after the end of our tenancy, and not one penny of the deposit has been returned, following hours on the phone to them, in clear breach of the conditions of the Tenancy Deposit Scheme. They refuse to return calls, blatantly claim that members of staff are out when they are in fact waving at their colleague to fob you off (they use caller ID to try to avoid you, I actually caught them out at this by calling back immediately on a different number, to be answered by the person who had been 'out' 30 seconds earlier). Avoid if at all possible.

Useless letting agency. Needed a contractor for repairs - always told they'd call me back and never did, and emails were ignored. It's taken almost a month to get things fixed, inc. to get hot water and an oven I can use. DO NOT LET THROUGH THEM.

This is just my personal experience: Not only did I have the usual problems of not Being able to contact the person who was taking care of my property sale to correct the spelling of Birminggham to its correct spelling of Birmingham, to put the correct property details on the internet sites, to remind them yet again to give me notice that i have a viewing. BUT after returning home from a late night of wok I saw drill shavings on the floor and found my key no longer worked on my door, and looked up to find a note written on a scrap of an old envelope saying 'management lost your keys phone on this number..' which was the fax number!!!!!! so couldn't get hold of them till they opened in Saturday morning (they all arrived late for work). After a heated debate with the manager that I owned the property and was a tenant not paying rent it transpired they had sent out a wrong locksmith with no management present for such a drastic step and got the wrong apartment!!!!! So after my complaining they sent me a letter of acknowledgement saying they would send a letter with more detail in within 14 days. Did this happen no, so I phoned, couldn't get hold of the manager - always at a meeting wouldn't return my phone calls and when i finally did get hold of this very rude man who did not return my phone calls, he said out of my hands in the hands of the insurers - well could he not of written to me as promised and explained and given me an idea of what was going on?!!!! Shocking and shameful behavior!!!
