i ordered a takeaway in oct08 from Joy, Surbiton.Chap decided not to take postcode, despite my offering it, and therefore driver went to smithfield road not lane. Arrived after 1hr15 mins so food was cold. After quick blast in microwave my vegetable madras looked like a bombay bad boy pot noodle. As if they had taken mixed tinned veg, largley made up of tiny cubed carrot and peas, added chilli powder, and dumped on a plate. There was no character behind the spicyness. I threw it away and had toast! My girlfriend's chicken tikka massalla was passable, although crude-sweet and salty-and the meat was poor. I filled myself on the Sag Aloo which we'd ordered as a side, which was ok, although again rather salty and the spinach was sloopy. Next time I shall stick with our local. I've never had to throw a dish away before. paid £21, worth less than £10.

A joy to eat there

Really tasty Indian food and reasonable value for money. I think this place has won some awards, which is probably down to the relaxed feel and unfussy decor, combined with the good food. They are quite happy to accommodate requests such as not putting certain veggies in curries, which shows that they make it all fresh. Quite busy so worth booking.
