Lovely grub
I disagree with the previous review and don't think that the food here is overpriced....what they sell is predominantly well cooked quality food and obviously that isn't going to be the same price as your average greasy spoon.The cooked breakfasts are super and my son had adelicious poached haddock with egg and black pudding which was exceptional.They also serve well balanced kids meals and if you can't be bothered to cook tea one day this would be a good choice.The cakes are all home made and really scrummy and if any of you have done any home baking recently you will realise that they are not overpriced for the quality.The cafe can get busy and the young waiting staff are a bit dosy so service can be rather slow, but if you time your visit right thtat shouldn't be a problem.A really top notch cafe and a deserved success!

Nice but expensive
What a gold mine the proprietors have here.A cafe set in a park in one of the best areas in Sheffield how could they go wrong? Run by the pudding ladies who sell exceptionally overpriced cakes!The cafe is set by the boating lake and when it is too crowded in the cafe and there are no seats, which happens regularly then you are able to sit outside or on the wall of the boating lake. I was once unable to find a seat so I was charged take away prices which I thought ws bad.The cafe itself is always busy especially in summer, it's expensive and the service isn't always what it could be. They also sell ice creams and lollies, the ice creams are from Bradwells and are good quality.Decor is now a bit jaded and needs tidying up as they also have bistro nights here (suppose they dim the lights!)OK if you want to spend a fortune!
