Modern cinema

Service

Quality

Value

Cineworld is a lovely modern cinema with a bar on the tramroute (Centretainment)with loads of restaurants nearby. If you come by car then you'll find lots of parking behind the cinema. The car park can be accessed from the roundabout near the Retail park which i find much quicker than driving along the road past all the restaurants. DO NOT park in the retail park though as fines have been given to drivers leaving their car for over 2 hours in that area. If you have an orange phone then Wednesday is a good day to go to the pics as you can text FILM to 241 and get a free ticket for a friend. If you are buying popcorn and a drink then be careful as they have an offer where it is actually cheaper to buy the really huge drink than just the huge drink. If you get the wrong one by mistake then they expect you to change it and this is a pain.If you are going on a date then this cinema is much nicer than the Odeon in town which last time I went smelled musty.

Cineworld

Cineworld is a large modern multiscreen cinema complex locate towards the outskirts of Sheffield, close to the indoor shopping centre Meadowhall. Easily accessable by road and tram (Centertainment Stop), and also within a short walking distance of a number of popular restaurant chains. Its out of town location means that car parking spaces are a necessity, and this venue provides them by the bucket load. The cinema itself with its family friendly atmosphere, is part of a large chain, showing the latest new releases and blockbusters on impressive large screens. The seats are spacious and comfortable and there is ample leg room. Onsite snacks are available including popcorn, hotdogs, pick n mix, and ice cream, however at noticable marked up price, furthermore the portions are huge.

Standard!

Cineworld is toward the outskirts of Sheffield, close to Meadowhall and the Sheffield Arena. Burger King, KFC, Nandos are all located right next to the cinema if you want some food before or after your film.Parking can sometimes be a problem at Cineworld – particularly if you're going on a Wednesday night (Orange 241 day!) you will really struggle and will probably end up parking down near Toys R Us in the retail park!!I haven't got any complaints about the cinema itself – obviously it gets crowded on the 241 day and when big films come out (The Dark Knight queue was near enough to Meadowhall! The seating within the cinema is spacious and comfortable. Drinks and food are ridiculously overpriced though – stop off and buy something before you go!!!

Great cinema

This cinema is ideally located its close to main roads and has its own free carpark which is better then the city centre cinemas. Its main competitor is the cinema at meadowhall. However i feel that its better due the the big full monty screen which is great to see the lastest blockbuster film on. Also the small premier screens are very comfy with the reclining seats. The prices are average cinema prices unless as mentioned by others you invest in the cineworld pass which is great if you go regulary ( at least twice a month) then it becomes a cheap night out (or day). Its also good as it has a ben and jerrys stand and the popcorn is not to bad either.

Great local cinema

Service

Quality

Value

After my favourite local cinema - the late, great, Crystal peaks - closed its doors years ago, I searched for a decent alternative for ages before finally settling for Cineworld (formally Virgin and at least two other names)Other reviewers have made note of the unlimited movie pass, and this is reall worthwhile if you go to at least two movies per month. If you go once or twice a week, the savings you make actually turn out to be quite impressive. While its a cinema suitable for all the family, I often think theres an adult feel to this venue which most others dont have. The bar on the upper level is a nice touch, as are the VIP screens with their ultra comfortable seats.Food prices are just as you'd expect - expensive. Portions are just as you'd expect - way too much for one person to eat or drink comfortably in one day, let alone in the duration of one movie, but thats pretty standard across the industry. The main screen too, is huge - the biggest in the uk outside of IMAX, I believe.

Lots of Choice

This cinema is huge and it has been named many things over the years. It started out as a Virgin Cinema and I believe has been bought out twice and is now Cineworld. My favourite thing about this cinema is the Unlimited card (of which I have) It is currently £11.99 a month and you can go to the cinema as often as you like. Whats even better is you can now sign up on line for it. If that wasn't good enough you even have your own que most of the time so when its really busy you get in the Unlimited que and get in quicker. Its something like £6.70 per adult now for the cinema so if you have an unlimited card and you go twice you have already made your money back. There are over 20 screens and lots of choice in films including Bollywood. At one point years back it had the biggest screen in Europe..not sure how true this is now though.

Big and expensive

Cineworld which it is now called is a multi screen cinema showing the newest blockbuster films and hand picked oldies. The cinema has many different size screens and can hold upto 250 people in their biggest screen. They also have two VIP cinemas which hold 50 guests and have chairs with leather seats, a counter for drinks and more leg room.Prices in the cinema can be better but they do offer a membership scheme where you pay £11.99 per month and you can see as many films as you like.As for sweets, popcorn and drinks, dont bother, bring you're own,the prices are crazy and are close to daylight robbery. The quality of food isnt great either. The layout of the cinema is good and they also have a bar on the upper floor for adults.
