Hello everyone. I have just arrived, so want to feel my way in this very new environment.I am very open to questions from anyone about anything horticultural, gardening, environmental, land, or property related. I have quite a wealth of experience in all these areas.I had better explain the 'Doncaster' connection. I actually live in Somerset, and am well established there. However, a very good friend of mine lives near Doncaster, and owns a quarter-acre paddock which needs to be made use of. I know from experience that a landscaper needs a good base, so I am testing out really whether anyone in the Doncaster area needs a quality service rather above and beyond the norm. I can do a lot of pretty interesting recycling things in a quater-acre fertile paddock, so if anyone commissions me to remove garden waste or recycle materials, I can do some quite interesting things there using recycling techniques that not many people know much about.Really, I am a consultant in my own related land management areas, so hope to meet up with people who want wholesome creative development projects undertaken which will give them surprising returns and benefits. All very mysterious this must sound - but will be revealed as this blog progresses over time.I will start off by saying that I am currently absorbed in a project to help certain smallholders in Kenya to gain significantly better production from their farms, using permaculture techniques. Currently, that means serious water harvesting - they have rains now, and six months drought to follow. This is something I am doing entirely voluntarily, and very rewarding it is. Once again, more will be revealed as time passes.So - feel free to ask questions, no matter how hard you think they are to answer. I design landscapes as well as gardens, and in so doing focus on an environmentally sustainable discipline called 'permaculture', which is a kind of people and environmentally friendly holistic approach to land management (makes for an interesting Google Search :) This is also applicable on a small scale, and provides for innovative ways to make a garden productive, economical, and beneficial in 'added value' ways.
