Charter Oaks Ltd is a specialist utility mapping company based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. Being centrally located in the UK we are able to carry out survey work nationwide with relative ease. We are a rapidly expanding company whose management and survey teams have a wealth of experience and knowledge of both the construction and utility industries, not to mention over 14 years working within the specialist survey market. To show our commitment and awareness of our Health & Safety obligations we are an Accredited Company on the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS), having demonstrated compliance with, and sound management of current health and safety legislation.

About Us

With up to date technology at our disposal we are able to offer a range of surveys from Desk Top Studies, allowing us to collect and transpose existing utility records on to either topographical or Ordnance Survey plans, through radio frequency location surveys, to a "BLANKET SURVEY" utilising the full range of techniques, including Radio Frequency Location and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR). In keeping with current guidelines of GPR, Charter Oaks are holders of the Ground Penetrating Radar Licence, issued by OFCOM. Nowadays, improved technologies and expanding utility demands have resulted in an extremely complex network of underground utilities. Design and build projects in areas of concentrated underground utilities, or areas which have poor records, require precise utility location information to avoid costly delays, conflicts, redesigns, safety hazards and service disruptions. At Charter Oaks we understand that every client is unique and that the use of the same principles and techniques do not always apply to everyone. Realising that individual attention is important; Charter Oaks will provide a consultation service to help provide a mapping solution that will work for each and every client.

Products

Full AutoCAD drawings can be produced to meet your individual requirements. We can overlay our survey results on to existing topographic surveys or alternatively we can carry out a topographic survey to meet your specification. Alternatively we can carry out a basic topographic survey which will detail boundaries, kerb lines and other surface features within the survey area to give you a base plan to work on. The drawings can be produced on any size paper at any scale, typically our drawings are produced on A1 or A0 drawing sheets at a scale of 1:100 or 1:200 depending on the size of the site and the complexity of our findings.

Services

The definitive survey service, from statutory record collection through topographic survey and utility survey with radio frequency locator and ground penetrating radar and an AutoCAD drawing showing the comprehensive survey results. Most common type of survey, which suits the majority of our customers needs. Similar to the blanket survey but doesn't include record collection or topographic survey. The survey without the drawings, if you are in an hurry then this is for you. If you are looking for a single pipe or a few metallic / power carrying features then this may be the most cost effective method for you. If you are looking for something out of the ordinary, whether that is sub-surface voids or Leaking water pipes, this service is probably what your looking for.
