Today (fathers day)we visited Cannards Grave Inn as we were desperate for a Sunday full english breakfast! The sign outside said serving breakfast till noon and everywhere else we had been were closed! So in we went not sure how the experience would be! How wrong we were! We were greeted really well by the staff who promtly took our order and bought drinks immediately. To look at although there was a few boxes standing around the entrance it was light, airy and clean and a pleasant atmosphere. We were given a great highchair for our toddler and there was space for him to toddle about while waiting for the food (even standing looking through the glass floor into the well which is in the middle of the restaurant!. We ordered 2 big breakfasts and the waiter listed what was on the plate. It arrived within 10 minutes or so and it was lovely to say the least! The toast was perfect with real butter (didnt seem like the cheap spread you get in most places!). The sausages were cooked to perfection, crispy skin and very tender. The mushroom were cooked just right and were very tasty. Even the eggs did not taste like cheap eggs, the quality seemed like local eggs very tasty! Black pudding, baked beans, bacon, sausages, toast and eggs was probably the best breakfast I have had in a long time and very filling for £5.95! The service from the young waiters and waitresses serving was second to none. regular checks to see if everything was ok and if we needed anything else! Huge compliments to the chef, the team and the manager!! I dont do reviews and have never written a review before but our breakfast was outstanding this morning and I just wanted to recommend to anyone in the area looking for a breakfast! As we were leaving they were setting up the carvary and so we look forward to visiting again to try out the lunch!
