Their offices are actually buy-to-let flats

When I went to their alleged offices, they are actually buy-to-let flats! I had a awful experience with Paul Johal and Touchstone Lofts. They spent more time manipulating reviews and covering up their shady practices than actually doing the work they were paid for. When police showed up to question Paul about his team, it was clear that something fishy was going on. On top of all that, I found out that HMRC are currently investigating Paul and his company for tax "issues" - interesting to say the least! But it's incredibly concerning to think that this company may not even be operating within the bounds of the law. Avoid Touchstone Lofts - there are plenty of reputable companies out there who will actually get the job done properly.

Just the worst company I've ever had the misfortune to experience.

I'm writing this review to warn anyone who is considering hiring Touchstone lofts for their loft conversion. They are the worst company I have ever dealt with. They overcharged me by thousands of pounds, they were rude and aggressive when I questioned their work, and they pretty much disappeared as soon as they got my signature on the contract. I have been trying to contact them for weeks, but they never answer their phone or email. They left my loft in a mess, with cracks, leaks and faulty wiring. They are a scam and a nightmare. Do not trust them with your money or your home.

I want to warn potential customers about my extremely disappointing and disturbing experience with Touchstone Lofts. Not only did I encounter poor service and deceptive practices, but I also discovered alarming behavior that calls the credibility and ethical standards of this company into question. It became evident to me that Touchstone Lofts is engaging in the reprehensible practice of paying for fake reviews on platforms like TrustPilot and Google. Their attempts to manipulate their online reputation through these deceptive means are a blatant reflection of their lack of integrity and disregard for genuine customer feedback.Additionally, I was appalled to discover that Touchstone Lofts uses Shutterstock photos to mislead prospective clients into believing that these images represent their own work. This form of misleading advertising is inexcusable and creates a false pretense that does a disservice to unsuspecting customers.Furthermore, the behavior of their representatives was nothing short of appalling. I was met with rude and aggressive responses when attempting to address my concerns, demonstrating a complete lack of professionalism and customer care that is simply unacceptable. What's even more alarming is that my attempts to hold Touchstone Lofts, in particular Paul, the Director, accountable, for their deceptive practices which were met with threats of legal action, intimidation, and references to involving the police. This aggressive response to legitimate concerns reflects an alarming pattern that raises serious questions about the company's ethics and commitment to upholding the law.In conclusion, my experience with Touchstone Lofts has been marred by deception, hostility, and potentially criminal behavior. Their willingness to engage in fraudulent activities, aggressive tactics, and a lack of transparency has left me deeply troubled and concerned for the well-being of other unsuspecting consumers. I urge anyone considering engaging with Touchstone Lofts to exercise extreme caution and explore alternative options. It is essential to expose and challenge such behavior to protect others from falling victim to these unscrupulous practices.

Horrible experience

We contracted Touchstone Lofts to build a loft conversion after seeing many reviews. The initial meeting with Paul left a good impression as he promised outstanding service with no hassle. Their marketing and website looks impressive, promising exceptional build quality and customer service but the reality is different. Paul turned up 3 hours late, so not a great start. I could write pages regarding the incompetence and appalling service we encountered with Touchstone but I am going to summarise. The work commenced in September 2022 and from the very first day we had issues with the workers not turning up some days, some days only one person would turn up and this continued throughout the whole build process. I contacted Touchstone to complain and they simply informed me that ‘time was not of the essence’. We were given a timescale of 12 weeks but the project was not completed till December 2022.We were charged an extortionate amounts of money by Touchstone for all the extras they applied. Paul was supposed to manage the project but we felt let down by his lack of presence and managing. We were the ones pointing out all the errors in the build and highlighting any issues that arose. We were left at the mercy of the contractor, who was very inconsiderate at times ( left us with no heating and or electricity). We had paid for interior decoration to be carried out and this took forever to complete. The delays in the build and decorating meant that we had to pay for storage for our belongings. Finally the decoration work started and the work was not finished to a good standard and they needed to return several times to complete the job. Eventually, once the work was complete, it took approximately 12 months to issue the completion certificate and this took months of emails, telephone calls and complaints to the their office. Sarah McIntyre spoke to us and she would acknowledge emails and then simply forget about us till we complained again. These are just a few of the numerous issues we had with Touchstone Lofts and we certainly will not be using them again or recommending them. Please note that with Touchstone Lofts you will be at the mercy of sub-contractors who are not vetted properly, will try to do the job using the cheapest possible materials and there are a number of hidden project costs. The customer service was absolutely dreadful and if things go wrong Touchstone are not helpful at all and appear to be invisible. I believe it is when things go wrong that the true nature of a company comes out.
