Fantastic Fish

If you love fish you will love Loch Fyne! This restaurant provides high quality fresh fish served in numerous tasty ways. I am a complete sucker for the mussels which come served in a huge pan and is a massive portion unlike many other places I have been. Everything about Loch Fyne shows a bit of class but still remains friendly and relaxed. There is a good selection of wines to accopmany your meal and the starters and puddings are varied and imaginative. The prices are a little high but quite often they offer set menus for a bargain price, normally including a glass of wine and they are often featured in the Times meal for a tenner promotion. If you are out in Oxford I would highly recommend Loch Fyne for a sophisticated yet relaxed evening and some excellent fishy food!

Great for wheelchair users!

I have visited several branches of the Loch Fyne Restaurant including this branch and they all have good wheelchair access and suitable toilets. I regularly have to hunt for suitable wheelcahir accessable restaurants for my fish loving wheelchair bound grandparents. This restaurant regularly wins the award of the most accessable. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about the fish they stock. They have a good variety of fish and seem to be aware about the overfishing of certain fish and often list lesser known types of fish. The food is consistently tasty and good value with great set meal's deals and a good wine list.

A fantastic seafood restaurant

I can quite honestly say that Loch Fyne is probably my favourite place to eat in Oxford. This seafood restaurant boasts an impressive menu, the ingredients of which are transported fresh from “Loch Fyne” in Scotland. If you don't like seafood, there are a few alternatives (sausages and mash, steak) but these are few and far between. On the other hand, for a seafood lover, there is no better restaurant in Oxford. What really sets Loch Fyne apart is the warm, friendly atmosphere. The staff are attentive as well as knowledgeable and take pains to make your meal special. Well worth a visit!

One of the keys, I think, to running a good restaurant is delivering good food consistantly. That is exactly what Loch Fyne do, time and time again. The welcome is always friendly and professional and the food is always good. The decor and atmosphere of the Oxford Loch Fyne is great, it's a really nice building and well laid out. Sat downstairs, you can watch the shellfish being prepared whilst you eat.The menu is seasonal, the food always tastes fresh, is well presented and is served in good portion sizes. The mussels, especially are a real treat and it's always a challenge to resist them and try something different. There's a fresh fish counter attached to the restaurant, so you can buy your own fish there as well as eating in and they have the occasional themed evening, which can change things up a little bit (without being intrusive). The prices are reasonable for what you pay, but if you shop carefully there are often good deals to be had through set menus or by eating early. These make the evening superb value for money. In any event, if you like seafood, Loch Fyne is well worth a visit.
