DECENT CHAPS JAZZ AND SWING

We usually perform as a quartet with Alan Walker on clarinet, saxophones, flute, piano and vocals; Steve Truman on string bass; Andy White on drums/percussion and vocals and Steve Rodda on guitar and backing vocals. Can also perform as a solo artist, duo, trio up to a 7-piece band.

OUR PERFORMANCE

We tailor each performance specifically for our clients, no matter how large or small the event. We are happy to perform at your wedding, garden or dinner party or at a public event in front of thousands. We accommodate your needs as much as we can.

OUR MUSIC

We have built up a large and very varied repertoire of Jazz, Swing, Latin-American, Ratpack and jump-jive, over the years, which is added to on a regular basis. The standard of play is very high and we have excellent testimonials.

DECENT CHAPS JAZZ and SWING - GENERAL INFORMATION

Decent Chaps quartet has played for Jimmy Carr, Geoff Whiting, Hattie Hayridge, Richard Herring, Kate Adie, Richard Baker, Freddie Flintoff, Nick Owen to name but a few and play nationwide at many weddings/civil partnerships, birthday/cocktail/dinner/garden parties, balls and civic and corporate functions. Our repertoire (attached) includes Jazz, Swing, Latin-American, Jump-Jive and Ratpack and is excellent for both background and for dancing later in the evening. The instrumentation comprises clarinet, saxophones, flute, piano, vocals, backing vocals, string bass, guitar and drums and we have our own stage lighting. The Chaps always wear full tuxedo, with wing-collared shirts or if the weather is very hot, matching waistcoats and bow ties (also with wing-collared shirts).
We also offer a free service in that if a special piece of music you would like – (eg for the First Dance) – is not in our repertoire, I will do my best to find it and Alan will arrange it for the band. You can listen to some of the tracks from our album on http://soundcloud.com/decent-chaps/sway
