Brookwood Farm, a grade 2 listed farmhouse, is situated in the wooded moorland valley of Beck Hole
It is set in 18 acres of ancient meadows for you to explore. Count more that a dozen different species of wildflower in less than 100 yards, wander around the remains of overgrown furnaces left behind over 150 years ago by Victorian iron masters. Walk the banks of the Murk Esk bordering the land, where brown trout dart about. Why not cast a line and try your luck under the reproachful eye of the resident heron
Brookwood Farm is ideally situated for local walks through the woods and over the moors. Or walk along the Murk Esk to Grosmont, the steam railway centre, a pleasant 40-minute walk away. From here you can take a leap back in time and board the train for Goathland, or go all the way to Pickering and back.
The lovely historical town of Whitby is 10 miles away, Scarborough is just 20 miles and York only 40 miles.
Brookwood Farm is centrally heated throughout, with a woodburning stove in the lounge where you can relax on an evening if the taste of fine ales and wine has not drawn you to the unchanged Birch Hall Inn, 100 yards stroll down the lane.
