About Us

Dipples itself is nearly 140 years old. The business was founded in 1878 in Woodford, Essex, by George Henry Dipple. George did not stay in Woodford for very long, by 1890 he is no longer registered as living in Woodford. Between 1888 and 1890 the business was relocated to Ipswich. The store made a final move to Norwich around 1894 and has been located in Swan Lane every since. Our second store in Dereham which was opened by Rodney Ellis, Great Grandson of the founder, celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2013.
We are proud to be a highly repescted and well known store both in Norfolk and beyond. We now deal with some of the biggest names in the Watch and Jewellery world. We have the expertise that allows us to be able to source almost any item you could imagine. Further to this if we can't source it, we use the best designers in Birmingham and London to design bespoke items for you.

Watches - Over 1500 different models on display!

Whilst you should never boost, we are happy to admit to having Norfolk's largest selection of watches! Many of our watches are also now available to purchase via our website too. On display in our store, you will find collections from leading Swiss watch makers, such as Longines, Gucci, Rado and Frederique Constant. We also have a comprehensive collection of watches by, Mondaine, Seiko including the latest Astronaut Collectoon, Citizen, Ebel, Michel Herbelin, Oris, Minster, Rotary, Dreyfuss & Co, Skagen and Calvin Klein. If you are looking for a specific model please either phone or email us to check availability, we are more than happy to hold an item aside for a few days, so you can view it.

Jewellery - Not just Diamonds!

Whilst we are proud of our diamond collections, which include the worlds most perfectly cut diamonds by Hearts On Fire and hand chosen stones from leading UK manufacturers, we do not forget about our jewellery collections. We always have a large selection of 9ct and 18ct jewellery on display, which can be set with or supplied without gemstones.
As a family independent business, we are free to choose what we want, we have no head office dictating rules on what we can buy! We have the biggest and most comprehensive collection of coloured gemstones in the East of England! Including fabulous Morganite and gorgeous Rubelite, and many others on display.

We also have a selection of the latest branded collections by Chamilia, Lucy Q, Endless Jewelry, Chimento, Hot Diamonds and more!
