Don't wear your best shoes!

A student experience not to be missed!Home to £1 cheesy Tuesday where as you may have guessed all drinks are a pound. Must try the fat frog - 2 pints for £1! It gets very hot down in the basement and the smell is (apparently) all part of the charm. As the title says, don't wear your best shoes as you won't recognise them when you get out. It's dark, smelly, too hot and covered in 'raz juice' but for £1 a drink and £1 entry what do you want?!Probably the easiest place to pull in Liverpool so if your on the lookout check it out. Music's cheesy dancey general student tunes, so good for a boogie.

Avoid!

Been once - never again!! I think the fact I was sober really didn't help the experience. You stick to the carpet, the walls drip with sweat and there is an aroma of vomit. Awful place! It is however really popular with students, I'm assuming most of them are well on their merry way before they go in. In its defence, it does play good cheesy music, but so does Walkabout without dripping walls!! Drinks are cheap and it is always busy in there. It is slightly out of town, so a 5 min walk from concert square. I'd really avoid! If you want a good night out head to concert square!

The Raz Rules

Quality

1. Never pull in the Raz; you will end up having swapped fluids with a gnome/giant/freak/stalker/the bar staff (who are often all of the above).2. Ask Dave the DJ nicely and he'll play anything. I mean anything. Chesney Hawkes. The Bangles. The Baywatch Theme (NB this is always played twice in a night anyway, as is Dolly Parton's 9-5). He'll also store handbags in exchange for a smile. 3. Store all clothes that weren't bought in Primark/scotchguarded that evening in the cloakroom. It's 20p an item. You need to do this. 4. Wear shoes that can be disposed of upon arrival home/washed in the washing machine (recommend boil wash)/wear plastic bags on your feet. The floor is Neolithic, and has not been cleaned since then. Neither have the cobwebs - I've been doing spot-checks for years. This is part of the charm. 5. The vodka is actually commercial diesel. You need to get it mixed with the slush puppy, otherwise you won't be able to speak after drinking it. 6. Go there now, if you haven't already. The best night out in the whole world. (And yes, I have sampled all other nights out in the world before you ask).

The Blue Angel – or as I prefer to call it the good old Razz – what can I say about it!!! Apart from many a good night and unfortunately several nasty hangovers. If you really want a great old night out and a boogie to all the old classic tunes then this is the place to go – Cheesy tunes and sticky dance floors just add and a slight whiff of sweat to the charm of this rather run down club. It is dark and smelly but fantastic for a night out without the expense of more plush locations. Bar prices reasonable and cloakroom facilities are available – so what are you waiting for???

although the blue angel is the only bar/nightclub in liverpool that i am barred from :-(If you like your nights out, hot, sweaty, without being able to move, then this is the place for you. Terribly cheap drinks and lots of single women/men looking for a good time .. if your on the pull head down to the blue angel. You'll find it on the opposite side of the roads to pogue mahones which serves the finest guniness in liverpool and is a great place to start if your heading to the blue angel later on. Be warned though cues can be long and cold at the BA!
