4and20 Blackbirds specialize in Medieval, Tudor and Elizabethan food preparation and presentation, outdoors or indoors, covering almost literally all aspects from Field to Feast.

Our unique living history displays present a different way to explore our heritage as we combine authentic methods of food preparation with historically accurate equipment to re-create the flavours of the past. Our enthusiastic presentation team is eager to share their knowledge, skills, and indeed passion with you as they demonstrate the many and varied aspects of the daily routines that revolved around food and feasting in times past.

Our Kitchen

Our historic traveling kitchen is the heart and soul of Four and Twenty Blackbirds display. We are proud to use authentic reproduction equipment sourced from some of the finest historical suppliers across the world. Each item in our kitchen and in the banqueting display has been carefully researched as to design and function which enables us to employ a variety of authentic historic cooking techniques. These in turn allow us to produce a wonderful variety of amazing finished dishes. Each menu item is based on historical manuscripts, tasted, tested, revised and reworked in our own kitchens.
