Payplan were once known as FCL (Federated Credit Limited) and offered free debt advice to anyone in the UK. A sister company called Shaws Insolvency Services was also established to assist members of the Police Force who required an IVA (Individual Voluntary Arrangement). FCL worked very closely with the Police Federations, as their members were not permitted to go bankrupt. As the number of enquiries grew rapidly, it became clear that there was also a need for a debt management service and thus Payplan was developed to provide totally free debt management plans. In 2005, we became aware that people calling us for help were getting confused; are we FCL, are we Shaws or are we Payplan? So the decision was made to use just one name, Payplan Ltd and to change Shaws Insolvency Services to The Payplan Partnership, that way (we hope) there will be no further confusion.

Initially we carry out a full assessment of your financial situation. We will ask for brief information about your creditors, your incomings, your outgoings and your circumstances. This enables us to put together an offer that is acceptable to your creditors and affordable within your weekly or monthly budget. Most importantly, we want you to be happy with the arrangement. We will then approach your creditors with details of your budget, a detailed list of all the companies you owe money to and ask them to approve the offer of reduced payments. In most cases creditors are happy to agree a Payplan arrangement because experience has shown that our plans are workable and realistic. You make one regular monthly payment to us and we then send the amounts directly to your creditors (usually by electronic bank transfer). For Debt Management Plans you can view details of all your payments to date using our Justabank system. We will help and support you throughout the duration of your arrangement. Your own advisor is available to help you overcome any problems throughout your Payplan arrangement. They will provide you with a direct-line number and email address so that you can contact them. A regular review of your circumstances ensures that your Payplan arrangement works for you continuously until all of your debts are cleared and financial freedom is regained.
