The first thing that strikes one about Spirit of Endeavour is that there's an absolutely massive kids play area attached to it, both indoors and out. Sadly it's not free, and you can't really leave your kids there whilst going for a meal, but certainly you can spend a few hours at the whole place, allowing the kids to drain off excess energy before retiring to the restaurant itself.Menu is typical of these sorts of Berni Inn types of places, two meals for ten quid from a limited range, during a limited time period (note: not all week). Even this is quite overpriced for what you get, they are not generous on the chips, for example.Kids meals are reasonable, but the price of drinks is ridiculously expensive, more than in nearly pubs, and that does take the gloss off a little.Nice ambience though, if heavily frequented by, let's say, the older generation.

I like this pub for a girly lunch. It's the sort of pub with the same chain type menus, and the same sort of prices but here you can feel relaxed. Unlike in some eating establishments, once you've finished eating you feel you have to move on. Here, you can eat, drink and gossip in comfort and not feel pushed out.The bar drinks are more expensive than local pubs but it's got a good feel about the place. It's spacious and the toilets are clean. It's ideal for families aswell. There is a large car park, just off the A16, and the attached play area (whilst not free) can help the kids burn off some steam especially if they've been cooped up in the car on their journeys. An Ok pub. If you don't mind the usual chain pub type food then this is an ok place to go.

My family visit the Spirit often and have never had a bad meal. Would find it hard to get a bigger, better meal for the price (2 meals for £10).Always friendly and quick service. The manager has been there ages and always greets us personally, they all make us feel very welcome. Drink prices are very reasonable, though will never match the town centre prices. Cheaper then most other pubs in town.

Very clean family pub, with a lot to attract those with a younger family. Drinks are on the expensive side and, for the most, the bar staff were friendly.A word of warning. Try the food only at your own risk. Just be cautious!
