In fact they even got worse! We were introduced to SmartDry by our neighbour who had it done a year after our chemical damp proofing affair, and she was very positive about the system. We gave it some time to see if it really worked, and after waiting for 2.5 years, we were impressed enough to go for it ourselves. So we had the damp proofing installed in September 2012 and now a bit more than a year later, the results are astonishing. It actually works much better than the traditional damp proofing. As a lower ground floor flat we suffered from a continuous damp problem. The walls were constantly stained black with mould and nothing we tried would get rid of the mould. SmartDry was recommended to us by our neighbour who had it installed. Shortly after seeing the difference the system made to a similar flat we made the call and arranged for SmartDry to conduct a survey and install their DryBricks. The simplicity and yet effectiveness of the product is remarkable. The man fitting it only needed access to the outside of the flat. I went to work and by the time I was home the entire job was finished and tidied up. It's great how you can choose the colours of the blocks to match your wall colour. They are so subtle. The effect was immediate. Since having the blocks fitted over a year ago we've not had a single damp problem in the flat. It really has made the world of difference to us. Walls which were once thick with black mould now stay a clean, dry white. The staff at SmartDry are very efficient, polite and amenable, they work around you. I would recommend SmartDry to everyone.
