My name is Dave Hilton and have been teaching pupils to drive for over 22 years and have maintained a high pass percentage throughout.

I am also qualified to offer the Pass Plus driving qualification, which is optional. But should you choose to take it, it will help to reduce the cost of your motor insurance. The Pass Plus course usually takes around 6 hours which includes time on and off the motorway, working to further increase your confidence and prepare you for safe, comfortable and enjoyable motoring experiences.

You can learn to drive whilst feeling comfortable and confident in both your lessons and instructor.

Whilst your learning to drive I will give you some study aids to help you on your way to your theory test as well as for situations such as roundabouts.

Be honest. You are now alert and keen at the start of your training with a readiness to follow instructions and practice in your eager anticipation of the next bit. Too often your initial desire does not have the impetus or strength to keep our full interest and attention throughout your training and, the whole course of your learning.

Whilst on my training: interest will be stimulated and maintained through encouragement and approval for effort.

So, the weakness of individual tuition is that when you are deprived of group learning you cannot measure your progress with others and, if you feel you are making slow progress, or none at all, encouragement from me alone will not always reassure your fear of your own supposed inabilities.

In fact, if I was unsympathetic you may come to feel completely isolated, discouraged and incompetent, if not completely demoralized. The setting of intermediate and easily attainable targets (short-term) goals will help to reinforce your progress and give me feed-back. To maintain your high level of performance and learning you will be rewarded and encouraged to greater, and, even further achievement. These stages of tuition are six flexible, self-contained and progressive modules of intermediate goals which can help to overcome these problems and aid more efficient learning.

These stages will help to organise a sometimes haphazard learning situation and help to prevent you being thrown-in at the deep-end before you can swim, nor will the intermediate stages be formidable to you as your far-away driving test. Stages will help you to make a more accurate estimate of your own progress and to make more useful comparisons with other learners. To make these comparisons more valid, these stages are intended to be complete modules of learning as well as intermediate goals. My initial objectives will have fairly wide tolerance levels to ensure that you can achieve early benefits, especially on my schemes.

On undertaking lessons with me you will get full handouts on these aforementioned stages, information handouts on roundabouts and parking along with sample theory tests to get you used to the type of questions you will be asked throughout your theory test.
