Do they know what they are doing

A bit of a story but the devil is in the details and is all true and correct We decided to "support your local shop" (never again), we went into shop on church street, on a saturday, got a rough price, note quoted in square yards, how long have we been metric? oh well "quaint and local perhaps" Chap from shop came to measure up after closing shop, he measured, and we thoiught we would get a quote there and then, i looked him in the eys and said "also i would like new tread plates please as these are marked", he checked undelay and said thats ok, (note they where offering free underlay, no offer of that!, well if what we had was ok fine no problem. I said when will we have the quote oh tuesday he said, at this point at the back door, he stared into space and said "oh my daughter will be just arriving in america" well after nearly having his life story in the shop, i said thank you we look forward to recieving the quote, well, three weeks later carpet finally in, they said they left a message we chased them up oh well they are coming friday, they came late 1.5 hours later than stated, again i had to ring to find out. anyway BUT... BUT The two that arrived with the carpet one must have stared in Dumb and dumber, the other was a little whirlwind, anyway carpet fitted, whirlwind said "ok all done" where are the tread plates? i enquired, we where not told that!, i phoned the shop, i wasnt told that the woman said, i only do the paperwork (little note on customer service here dont make excuses or pass blame, try to find a solution) I said well i have been quoted fro a job which included two tread plates, "that will be £10 extra" i told here i had looked the chap measuring in the eye and said "include two new treads" please, after hearimg "well what people do is" and "I didnt have that inmformation" i only do the paperworks etc I said forget and i wont use you again, the whirlwind to his credit ran to van and said he had these tread plates, the one to the kitch need a different type, i said would you put that one back on, ok, well after he put that back on and i paid him and he had gone>>> i noticed that the tread plate was fitted wrong the carpet was bunched up the carpet in other places was bunched up.. i thought i would call them back but i dont need the hassle I will put it right myself. I will go back to using Briercliffe carpets, used them for 4 years before, should have kept to them, qoutes there and then in the shop, always on time well once they where late but called ahead alwyas fitted neatly
