Cafes and Snack Bars in Canterbury
44 High Street
Canterbury

The last reviewer was talking about a previous incarnation of this venue. No run by the girl that used to run the "Ha Ha bar" in St Margaret's Street. This venue was once the first Cinema of Canterbury and if you look around the walls you will see what it used to look like. Allowing for a few staff changes this may settle down to be a great restaurant. The food is well presented but there were some teething problems with the staff during the first week or so now settled, you'll feel relaxed in the closest I have found to a Parisian restaurant outside the Isle d'France. I recently tried an omelet with blue cheese which was on special and I have to say it was one of the best I've had. Service can be patchy but I like it enough to have booked here for Christmas Lunch.

don't like the ambience here. the staff are quite gormless, mostly students, and far too overpriced.
