At Paul Adler Optometrists, we ensure you enjoy the best possible level of vision and visual comfort while also looking out for early signs of eye-related health problems. A detailed sight test (eye examination) will detect any eye problems such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, squints, or amblyopia ("lazy eye"). The optician (optometrist) might also detect general health issues such as high blood pressure and diabetes.
Regular eye examinations are important for people of all ages. Good vision can make all the difference to how a child gets on at school and an up-to-date prescription can help remove barriers to learning at all ages. We see adults, children and infants. Changes in vision often occur in middle age, and medical issues can often have an impact on your sight.
I came here as a University student, under the allowance of Disabled Students Allowance, to have a colour test for tinted glasses. I found the lady who did the test for me (which costs over £300) rude, and was in a rush, as if I wasn't worth the time. She even hurried me through taking the time to clean my own glasses! After the appointment she rushed me out of the room. The staff on reception were pleasant enough, they helped me through finding a frame. However, I did leave feeling very unsatisfied with the service, although it was not me paying to my appointment, they still were getting paid the same amount, and should have been polite, patient and kind. I did not find this at all. And if I could go back I would definitely not go here again. I advise others to look elsewhere.
